News - 2009/2010
Congratulations to all of the Waverley athletes who participated in the third gruelling week of the cross-country season for 2009. It was great to see even more new faces at Nortons Park, possibly the most challenging course to date!
The day began with sunshine and ended with cloud cover, but the ground was dry and the wind was absent, so it was a great day to run the undulating Nortons Park course. Most athletes were pushed to their limit but they all dug deep and finished their race to the best of their ability. Brilliant effort by all!
I have mastered (debatable!) the data entry program for Waverley and have managed to input cross-country results from weeks 1 and 2. Make sure you check your results (and let me know if I've made a mistake). Week 3 Waverley results will be available in the results section soon and the full results are on the Knox website. Some pictures from week 3 have been added to the website.
It was great to see 10 athletes from a variety of age groups turn up to cross-country training this evening. We'd love to see more athletes come along and fine tune their fitness and cross-country technique ... so pencil it in for Wednesday 4.45 - 5.45. Sharon makes it fun and worthwhile.
This weekend takes us to Tirhatuan Park ... a comparatively flat grassy track that takes you around a small lake! Athletes, set yourself a goal this week ... perhaps aim for your best time yet this season!
