The grass was a little longer, so the toes a little wetter, but the rain stayed away, making Koomba yet another perfect day for cross-country!
With a couple of early hiccups (there was nearly a marital breakdown when my “better half” kindly offered to bring Lachie but thought Koomba was somewhere in Ferntree Gully and consequently missed Lachie’s race … sheesh), all was sorted out … and the athletes were off and achieved fine results! Many have the school cross-country championships in their sights, so training runs are ramping up!
We had one problem … I found HALF A LOLLY WRAPPER ON THE GROUND! Ohhhh nnnoooooo! You guessed it … I turned into grumpy Kate and began looking for the culprit! My beady eyes searched the faces of nearby Waverley athletes who all nervously proclaimed their innocence! Mandy Fahey … who can get even grumpier … has offered to have the wrapper dusted for fingerprints! I’m going to give the Waverley athletes the benefit of the doubt and assume that it accidentally dropped from somebody’s hand or pocket as they were going towards the rubbish bin! I’m hoping the other half of the wrapper actually made it to the bin! Mmmm, be warned … all wrappers are to be put in the rubbish bin!
