Waverley Seniors athlete Madeleine Pape has just won the 800m at the World University Games and ex Waverley Little athlete Brendan Cole has won the 4 x 400m GOLD for Australia and finished 5th in the 400h final which was won by Aussie "young gun" Tristan Thomas. Final selections for the World Championships Team in August were submitted this week, and both guys were added - and will wear the "Green & Gold" in their "pet events". Madeleine is also selected to run the 4 x 400m relay alongside Tamsyn Lewis ...... with the squad weakened with the unfortunate withdrawal of Jana Pittman due to a back injury.

This will be the 1st time both Madie & Brendan have been selected for a World Championships Team, as they continue to follow their dreams toward the London 2012 Olympic Games . We wish them "all the best" ...... and are testament to the fact that if you work hard together with dedication - you can reach the very highest level of sporting achievement !!
