Rodney (Rocket) Singleton passed away on Friday the 1st October 2010 after a short illness.  For those that remember, Rod was  our sports trainer /first aid for the past 2 years and an important part of the Waverley family and keeping our children safe. We will cherish the memories of the times we spent together at the Athletic track and will miss him dearly . Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I first met Rod at the 2006 Commonwealth Games where like myself, Rod was a passionate volunteer  (Sports Medicine - trainer �. In Rods case).  Rod was not just a �trainer� for athletics, but his passion and caring for others reached to many other sports.   Rod was a fantastic asset that WLAC were to enjoy for the past two seasons, and it was extremely comforting knowing that our children were always in the best of hands when Rod was called on to �patch them up�.  Rod also ran the warm up alternate weeks and I will always remember him naming one of the stretches "the Lindsay ....... stretch".  Rod was always happy and humorous and most importantly in his position - PROFESSIONAL !!!
