News - 2009/2010

A number of Waverley athletes "excelled" on Tuesday at the School Sport Victoria State Cross Country Championships.

Nicholas Thomas & Patrick Ziguras continued their "battle royal" to finish 2nd & 3rd respectively (with identical times and only being separated by the finish judge!) in the 14 Year old boys race.

Sophie O'Sullivan was ecstatic with her 3rd placing in the 9-10 girls race and has been selected in her 1st Victorian Team to run at Nationals held at the famous Stromlo Forest in Canberra over the weekend of 19-22nd August.  Konrad Debicki will also join her after finishing a fine 7th at the All Schools XC Championships on the Saturday.  Congratulations to you both

More great results came from Matt Fewings (29th 11yo boys) & Jessica Hepworth (30th 11yo girls).  You have all worked very hard and enthusiastically for these fantastic results and will only inspire others to set goals and strive to reach their potential.
