On Saturday 8^th February 2014, WLAC is holding a Relaython.
This is a major fundraising event for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

RCHGFA is the official LAVic endorsed charity and has been an annual event since the early 1970s.
Over the last 40 years, with the help of Centres, LAVic has raised over $800,000 for the charity. Last year LAVic raised $55,161.70
The cheque is then presented on Good Friday at the Appeal (and last year I got on TV!)

In the past, Waverley has well supported this event. In the mid 1970s, Waverley won the award (twice) for most money raised.
Last year we raised $904.70 and completed 150 Laps of the track in 3hr 54m 20.49sec (in Lane 2) which equals 61,050 metres distance.

What is a Relaython?
It’s simple. You have 1 Relay baton and that baton must be run around the track non-stop for a set period of time.
All you need to do is donate a gold coin and you can run as many laps as you like (or that time permits)
Whatever program we run that weekend, the Relaython will replace the “Distance” events and all athletes have an opportunity to participate & have some fun.

Parents are also encouraged to run laps, as long as athletes are given priority - after all - we will need parents to help in the “down time” to keep that baton going (and yes, even I will have a run!)

Last year we began at 8:28am - so make an effort, bring your runners and get down early to get a few laps in.

Fundraising:
We will have donation tins from Saturday 25^th Jan until Saturday 15^th February.
You can make an early donation if you can’t attend on the 8^th or make as many donations as you like.
On the day, we will also sell Raffle Tickets for a couple of prizes.
A gold coin donation from athletes can be made before they run their first lap, at the tent.
