News - 2015/2016

After last week's unpredictable weather, this week we are running with program 2. If it is raining during set up we will have to cancel as we can't risk our electronic equipment in the wet. That being said, please be there from 7.30am to help with set up as usual. Warm up for athletes commences at 8.45am.

STARTERS - URGENT

As indicated last week, we are still short at least two starters this season, so if anybody would like to volunteer to learn, please speak to me or one of the starters to find out how you can assist.

RELAYS

All relay teams have been finalised and lodged for both Mentone (Sunday 15 November) and Regionals (Saturday 21 November). We have 20 teams for Mentone and 15 for Regionals, which gives us a great chance at success. The U11s in particular are strongly represented with a number of teams. The U8s are also representing the club at Mentone, which is a good lead in to next year, when they are eligible for Region and State Events.

The parent duty roster for Regionals is located on the sign in table. Please ensure you do a minimum of one duty if your child is competing. We require 2 people to do set up and pack up (set up people receive a free breakfast!).

IMPORTANT NOTICE for relay competitors - you will all need proper uniform for these events, see noticeboard for requirements re shorts/leggings. The new orange Jetstar patch should already be sewn onto the Waverley tops. If you don't have one please see the registration team inside the club rooms at the start of the program.

VICTORIAN SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to all those athletes who competed at the recent Primary and Secondary School Championship events. Many did well, notably Caeden Parkinson who won the Boys U9-10 80m hurdles! Luckily I was there to watch and it was a great run Caeden, so well done! Let me know if I have missed any other winning or medaled performances.
