News - 2015/2016

This Saturday brings our last meet for the season, however it is very informal and the kids are welcome to come down and do a couple of events (depending on numbers). There is no dedicated program as such, but it will be an invaluable session for those athletes competing at next weekend's State Championships. Shane Carstairs will be there from our Senior club, offering some coaching to our State rep throwers. 

We will start at around 9am. Please arrive at 8-8.15am for early set up (field events mainly). There will be no timing gates and no recording of events, so any records broken will not count unfortunately. Manual timing only for any track events we conduct. 

Also there will be no canteen or BBQ this week, so please BYO drinks and snacks. 

LaVic Membership Survey 
You should have received an email with a survey to be completed, where you can include your feedback on the club for this season. I ask that you complete this survey if you can, as it will provide some insight into what our parents/athletes are thinking - keeping in mind of course that the Centre is run by volunteers not paid staff! 

State Track and Field Championships - Casey Fields Cranbourne, 19 & 20 March

Again, I will ask for your help over the weekend - I am thinking 2 hour blocks for the first one and per event for Shot Put. Please have a look at the timetable and let me know your preference. The program starts at 8.30am each day.

TROPHIES, etc 
If you couldn't collect your trophies/certificates last Saturday, you are welcome to collect them at the track this Saturday. Katy Smith, our Secretary will be handing them out.  

CROSS COUNTRY 
For those interested in doing Cross Country running over winter, we will once again be joining with Knox for events. Keep an eye out for notices on the website. Niamh O'Reilly has kindly offered to coordinate the season, so thank you Niamh! Your summer membership (that you have already paid) covers the Cross Country season. 

Finally, I hope you enjoyed the season this year and I look forward to seeing as many of you again next year. Say, if you want to put your hand up for a key on-field role next season, please let me know!
