News - 2016/2017

The Board of Management (of Little Athletics Victoria) this week unanimously agreed that in the absence of a suitable product and to keep competitors in the sport, U16 athletes can continue to compete at Centre competition only. 
There will be no U16 competition scheduled for Region and/or State events and U16 athletes will not be invited to participate in the JDS program. This is not in line with transition strategies.

The BOM reviewed the following circumstances; 
1. Competition can remain at weekly venues have agreed unanimously to have Under 16 athletes remain at centre competition moving forward. 
2. After previously stating that the age group would be removed from our offerings, further review of the product and information gathered from our members saw us rethink our position. 

This decision will allow our Under 16 athletes who wish to still be involved in Little Athletics do so, whilst encouraging them to participate in the next level of Athletics in Victoria (Athletics Victoria Members).
