Popped down to the track yesterday and had a quick look at our new High Jump and Long Jump runways! They certainly do look fantastic. 

A massive thank you to Monash City Council and contractors for delivering this massive project, long overdue. 

The new High Jump fan replaces the original which was laid in the early 1970’s and the new Long Jump runway and pits replace the existing which was installed in 2000. 

I’d like to extend my thanks to all WLAC members both past and present who were part of this project - from the initial idea of looking into new facilities, to obtaining quotes, submitting a proposal, chasing up details and ensuring this was delivered. 

Also, the track has gone dormant so if you head down to the track and see the grass is not looking too good, don’t stress! 

Just behind us, the central reserve grandstand is also under construction/renovation, a $1.3m project being delivered in Monash.
