News - 2021/2022
What a long week it's been - congratulations to everyone that participated in the SMR Region Track & Field Carnival last weekend. Will send out a wrap up of the event in another email.
Saturday morning we will be running Program 3 (for the second time this season) - Walks/400m. We will have our fantastic Walk Judges attending, to ensure we can conduct the Walk event in a proper manner. We may start a few minutes late, as Wally drives to Waverley all the way from Tyabb and has to make a stop at Frankston LAC to judge their walk event first.
Please remember that Early Set Up begins from 7:30am - all hands on deck - the U9, U10 and U11 Age Groups are specifically nominated this week to assist with set up.
JAVELIN for the Southern Stars (U13-U16) will again commence from 8:15am with Merryn Ashcroft - please arrive nice and early to ensure your name is ticked off and you can participate in the event!
As always, we need our wonderful parent volunteers to assist with our Age Groups - our parent roster system is back online, so please follow this link to register for a duty. http://roster.waverleylac.com.au/Duty/SignUp/267fcf4a-5a43-4543-9326-278751784cc0
A number of safety reminders:
- Do not cross the Sprint Track - go around either end of the track
- Do NOT walk around or through the Discus area (behind the clubroom) - there was an incident last week that could have been avoided
- At Shot Put, please sit the children 2-3m away from the throwing circle
- If Javelin is running, please DO NOT walk near or through the Landing Area (whether it's in the middle of the arena or near the Car Park)
- Please place all Rubbish in the bins provided
- The High Jump shed is not a trampoline, please do not allow children to climb/jump on it
- Please ensure athletes don't climb the trees to avoid injuries
Look forward to another week of Little Athletics tomorrow morning. There's not many weeks left of our summer season, so let’s enjoy each remaining week ahead
